Top 14 Law Schools (T14)
While law school rankings have generally broken down into US News categorization of tier 1 (1-50), tier 2 (51-200), and tier 3 (100+) schools. A much more informal but widely accepted further breakdown of law school rankings is the top 14 law schools.
Since the inception of the annual US News law school rankings in 1989, 14 schools have remained at the top of the rankings for consistently for the last 20 years. While the schools within the Top 14 will frequently see their annual rankings change from year-to-year, non of the top 14 law schools have dropped out of the top since the inception of the rankings.
Furthermore, Yale has consistently ranked first on the US News list while the top 5 law schools have consistently maintained the presence of Harvard, Columbia, and Stanford law schools.
In alphabetical order, the following are commonly known as the Top 14 or T14 law schools:
